Honey bee on a hollyhock bud
Resting in the Shade

Now that we have had our very early spring and the tops of the tulips plants have started to emerge from the warm soil, our forecast calls for “average” temperatures for this week. I will be so surprised if I have tulips and irises to photograph, this year. And we’re tearing out the hollyhocks (and accompanying thistles) because of the terrible spread of them throughout the yard. I must somehow get my back garden turned, so that I can plant something, this year.

I will miss the hollyhocks, August through October.
