Last Year’s Leaves

autumn leaves in the springtime
Color and Texture

In our back yard, many different leaves cover the ground in late autumn. We may not rake them until late spring. With the winds and lack of rain, they may dry up and blow away. As with the frost ferns, fallen leaves form interesting groupings of sizes, shapes and colors. I enjoy walking through the back yard and photographing whatever catches my eye. Today’s wind, dryness and high overcast seemed good for shadows and deeper hues.
